The journalist got wind of a comment the actress made at the BAFTAs gala held at a downtown Los Angeles theater, telling a guest that she was concerned Prince William and Kate Middleton would “see the worst’’ of the city.
The opener of the paper’s column read, “I can’t believe Zooey Deschanel is really the snobby cow she came off sounding like.’’ On her website, Deschanel said her quote was taken out of context and meant as a joke. The 500 Days of Summer star said she was just referring to an adjacent parking lot that had trash in it.
