Plaxico meets Tomlin, Colbert in Latrobe

After meeting last night's meeting with the Giants coach, Tom Coughlin, who described the aftermath as "positive" (which is almost as surprising as any surgery on an NFL player that is described in immediate aftermath as a "success"), the receiver Plaxico Burress has visited his other team in the NFL - the Steelers.

For the Beaver County Times, Burress will meet with coach Mike Tomlin and director of football operations Kevin Colbert.

Plaxico's presence in the field shows a dynamic that, like Peter King said during Monday's live PFT, the coaches would like to avoid - to bring free agents for visits at times when a team has a group of players in the same position may wonder just what in hell is going on.

Recipients of the Steelers, despite having a solid group with four deep (if / when Hines Ward is healthy), lack one thing that Burress brings to the table height. The Steelers thought they were adding to Limas Sweed, a second-round pick in 2008 than three years has reached only a roster spot, and he is about to abandon it.

Although it has been a sore point between the living and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers know what a tall guy like Plaxico can do for the crime. The question is whether to join his former team in the first or second to his former team, or if someone else will jump on the hunt for a man who can still be a weapon.

Given the search for the Eagles recently poaching big-name free agents, although no one knows it's going to announce they have signed Burress minutes after you leave Latrobe.
